Douglas R. Erwin

Doug began
his career early in life, starting his first company while
in high school. Doug went on to pursue a degree in Computer
Engineering from the University of Arizona. After completing
his degree Doug joined Brio Technology where he worked
as Product Manager for three years. Doug left Brio in
late 1999 to co-found SeasonPass.com, Inc. Doug actively
pursued strategic partnerships and fund raising and eventually
transformed the company into Internet Business Applications
Group, LLC (IBA Group). Doug worked in the capacity of
managing partner at IBA Group, which established itself
as a leading technology services company in Northern Nevada.
Doug's experience as an entrepreneur and business
leader makes him the ideal person to lead Pria Diagnostics
Dr. Jason L. Pyle, Ph.D.
Chief Technical Officer / Member, Board of Directors
B.S. Engineering Physics, University of Arizona Ph.D. Molecular & Cellular Physiology, Stanford University
Jason Pyle started
his academic career at University of Arizona where he
completed a B.S. in Engineering Physics in three years.
During his tenure at U. of A., Jason published five papers
in respected journals, including Science, and worked as
research student for both the Mayo Clinic in Rochester,
Minnesota, and the Optical Science Center in Tucson, Arizona.
Jason was awarded an National Institute of Health MSTP
grant to work on a joint M.D., Ph.D. at Stanford University.
During Jason's
first four years at Stanford he published ten papers in
respected journals, including Nature and Science. Jason
completed his Ph.D. and was awarded the Alzheimer Association's
award for excellence in medicine. Jason has extensive
research experience, both as a lead contributor and as
a manager. He has consistently succeeded in his research
and as such leads the Pria Diagnostics research team.
Dan Morrow
Chief Operations Officer
B.S Engineering, California State University Long Beach M.S. Material Science & Engineering,
University of California Berkeley
Dan has over 25 years in high technology Silicon Valley companies and a strong
background in setting up manufacturing and quality organizations
in early stage companies. Prior to joining Pria Diagnostics
he was the Vice President of Operations at ACLARA Biosciences,
a NASDAQ listed company. Dan was brought into ACLARA to
set up the infrastructure to support the launch of the
Company's
BIOMEMS products. Prior to ACLARA, he was the General
Manager of the Genomyx Product Group at Beckman Coulter.
Dan was part of the management team that sold Genomyx to
Beckman Coulter and went on to manage the absorption of
the company. Prior to Genomyx, he was the Director of Engineering
at Physiometrix, where he was responsible for the launch
of their first medical device product. He started
his career at Raychem after earning a Masters in Engineering
from University of California, at Berkeley.
Ben R. Taylor
Vice President Business Development
B.A. East Asian Studies, Brown University
Ben Taylor has worked with over 25 emerging
and middle market healthcare companies on mergers, strategic
partnerships and financings. Before joining Pria, Ben worked
with Asanté Partners, a healthcare-focused investment bank,
specializing in strategic advisory and transaction execution.
Ben had a particular focus in medical devices and diagnostics,
working with companies ranging from early stages of development
to established market leaders. Ben has also had significant
experience in Asia including study at Peking University
in China and financing work in South East Asia.
Alexander M. Aravanis
Vice President Engineering
B.S. Electrical Engineering, University of California Berkeley M.S. & Ph.D. Electrical Engineering, Stanford University
Alex's graduate work started at Stanford
where he completed a Masters in Electrical Engineering.
He was awarded a National Institute of Health MSTP grant
and is currently working toward completion of his Ph.D
and Medical Degree. Alex has published a number of papers
in respected journals and brings a wealth of practical
experience to the Pria team. Alex has an extensive background
in advanced semiconductor manufacturing with specific
experience in the development of low cost micro-fluidic
devices.
Vladimir Drbal
Director Research & Development
M.S. Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Prague
Vladimir has over 30 years experience in medical device research, development
and manufacturing with a particular focus on diagnostics. He has held senior
engineering positions at several leading diagnostic and device companies,
including LifeScan, Agilent, Sequoia-Turner, Coulter Corporation, Molecular
Devices and Arthrocare. Vladimir has had a particular focus on automated
hematology systems, blood glucose monitoring, MEMS and optomechanical
systems. He is named in nine issued and several pending patents.
